It was reported that six Islamic extremists were killed by armed forces on Friday, March 2, 2018 when they attacked French Embassy and army headquarters in separate attacks in Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso’s capital). Several people were wounded during the attacks and there was no immediate claim of responsibility. For the past few years, the Islamic State militants have attacked Ouagadougou, targeting foreigners. In Kabul (Afghanistan capital), one person (a young girl) was killed and about fourteen people wounded on Friday morning by a suicide car bomb. According to the report our correspondent gathered, the attack occurred in the neighborhood of Qabil Bay (the eastern part of Kabul). There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack. In Kenya, five police officers were killed when suspected extremists attacked Kenya’s northern Mandera County. Mohamud Saleh (Regional Coordinator) said that the terrorists targeted government administration offices and Kenya police camps. Also military in Somalia said that a suicide bomber rammed a car into a Somali military base (northwest of Mogadishu) on Friday, killing one soldier. Al Qaeda-linked Al Shabaab, the militant group have claimed responsibility for the attack. Al Shabaab have carried out several bombings and other attacks in Mogadishu in order to topple Somalia’s Western-backed President Mohamed Abdullahi led government. Last week, a car bomb in Mogadishu which the terrorist group (Al Shabaab) claimed responsibility for killed 45 people.
