Shimon Peres, the 93-year-old former president of Israel is dead. Peres died in a hospital near Tel Aviv on Wednesday, September 27, 2016 after suffering a stroke with internal bleeding for about two weeks. Israeli ex-president and Nobel Peace Prize winner, Peres served twice as Israeli prime minister and also as a president from 2007 to 2014. In 1994, he won a Nobel Peace Prize jointly with prime minister Yitzhak Rabin and Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat for his role in negotiating the Oslo accords which made Palestine an independent state. May his soul rest in peace.
