On Wednesday, 30 September 2020, Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Sabah (83 years) was sworn in as the new Emir of Kuwait. Kuwait’s new Emir, Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Sabah took constitutional oath at the Kuwaiti National Assembly in Kuwait. He took over the leadership of the tiny oil-rich country after the death of the former Emir, late Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Sabah. The late Emir’s remains (Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Sabah) was flown back to Kuwait City on Wednesday from Mayo Clinic (Rochester, Minnesota) where he was receiving medical treated before his death.
