Sheik Gumi

SHEIK GUMI FROM THE NORTHERN PART OF NIGERIA AND HIS SOFT SPOT FOR BANDITS IS GETTING OUT OF HAND.

The Viewers Corner News team is calling on the federal government of Nigeria under the leadership of President Buhari to revisit and work with the advice given to President Buhari by the late Maitama Sule. When the late Maitama Sule visited President Buhari with some northern elders in Aso Rock Villa before he died, he told President Buhari to lead Nigeria with an open mind, take every Nigerian as one. These were the words of wisdom from a late elder statesman who knew what leadership was all about. Under the leadership of President Buhari, some groups of people are treated differently than others, which should not have been so. Any country where such injustice is allowed to take place, insecurity would always be there like it is in Nigeria today. Look at Sheik Gumi and his utterances in favour of the bandits who are killing innocent people on a daily basis. It shows that something is wrong somewhere. Assuming such utterances are coming from someone in another region of Nigeria, believe it or not, such a region would have been levelled long ago, which is called a “double standard” way of leading the people. Such a system is completely bad. Sometime ago, the Nigerian Defence Academy was invaded, lives were lost and up till today, not much has been said about it by the authority of Nigeria. But if such an invasion was done in another part of Nigeria, the whole army would have hunted everyone in that part of the country, and many other examples of injustice happening in Nigeria. This is why various regions across the country are no longer in favour of one Nigeria. However, to solve these problems, President Buhari or those that would come after him should take the advice of the late Maitama Sule. Love and take all the people of Nigeria as one big family. Treat them with an open mind. Do not favour your tribe only. Carry every Nigerian along if you want to achieve a permanent peace.
