Saudi Arabia plans to spend $500 billion (£379.6 billion) to build a business and industrial zone extending across its borders into Jordan and Egypt. The project was announced by Mohammed bin Salman (Saudi Crown Prince) on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 during an international business conference in Riyadh which attracted more than 3,500 people from 88 countries. The zone known as NEOM according to him will focus on industries like advanced manufacturing, energy and water, biotechnology, food and entertainment.
