Saudi Arabia has executed Prince Turki bin Saud bin al-Kabeer on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 for shooting a man (Abdul Karim Mohaimeed) dead during a fight at a desert camp in 2012. According to report, Prince Turki and Abdul Karim Mohaimeed were involved in a fight at a desert camp, the prince was so furious that he brought a Glock pistol from his Lexus and shot Mr Mohaimeed dead. Prince Turki was arrested and later sentenced to death by a court in 2014, his death sentence was confirmed by a royal decree from King Salman, who is a distant cousin of the executed prince Turki.
The kingdom did not say how he was killed but many believed that he was beheaded as most of the 134 executions Saudi Arabia has carried out this year have been beheadings. This is believed to be the first time in decades that a member of royal family has been put to death. The last time a royal was executed in 1975 was when prince (Faisal bin Musaid) was killed for assassinating his uncle, King Faisal.
