SAMI EROL GELENBE (TURKISH-FRENCH NATIONAL) AND MOHAMMAD AMIN SHOKROLLAHI (AN IRANIAN) HAVE BEEN AWARDED IRAN $500,000 MUSTAFA PRIZE.

Sami Erol Gelenbe (a Turkish-French national) and Mohammad Amin Shokrollahi (an Iranian) have been awarded science and technology award ($500,000 Mustafa Prize) by Iran. Sami Erol Gelenbe and Mohammad Amin Shokrollahi are two computer science experts and were honoured for their achievements in systems assessment in model-making and computer coding according to Sourena Sattari (Iran’s vice president in charge of scientific affairs). The award (science and technology award) is giving every two years by Iran to Muslim researchers and scientists living anywhere in the world as well as non-Muslim scientists living in Muslim countries. Each winner receives medals, certificates and $500,000. This is the second time Iran is giving out the award, the first was given in 2015 to Jackie Y. Ying (Taiwanese-Singaporean nanotechnology researcher) and professor Omar Yaghi (Jordanian-American chemistry). Congratulations to Sami Erol Gelenbe and Mohammad Amin Shokrollahi.
