The recent event where some Nigerian soldiers lost their lives is a sad news. These are young men defending their country (Nigeria) with sub-standard weapons based on our (Viewers Corner News team) findings. Viewers Corner News correspondent in Abuja (Nigeria) had a chat with some Nigeria military officers not too long ago where they complained bitterly concerning the corruption going on in the military service. Based on what our (Viewers Corner News team) correspondent gathered from them, they are using sub-standard equipment most times to engage the insurgent groups which they believe should not have been so and all these led to the recent killings of some Nigeria soldiers. They also told our (Viewers Corner News team) correspondent to assist them in pleading with the federal government of Nigeria to stop asking the senior officers in the Nigeria army to source for weapons for the military.
They made some suggestions which got our (Viewers Corner News team) attention and after reviewing them, we found out it would be nice if the federal government of Nigeria can implement such ideas. They want the Nigeria army to list the equipment they need for the military and pass it on to the presidency which would take control of such matters by going to any of the advance countries of the world to purchase these weapons and bring to the country (Nigeria).
They said also that no Nigerian army officer should have access to any money concerning weapon procurement because asking them to go and buy these weapons is like throwing money away, they will go and buy fairly used weapons from third world countries which is almost out of use and claim they are new ones. Even most of the tanks they are using are outdated and the fire power is not so good.
Looking into their complains, one would agree with them completely. Honestly the sacrifice these great Nigerian soldiers are making defending their country (Nigeria) is huge and should be commended. Sincerely for them to properly carry out their duties, they should be well equipped so we (Viewers Corner News team) are pleading with the federal government of Nigeria to urgently investigate the recent killings of those Nigerian soldiers. They complained of corruption in the military which has been depriving them the ability to do their jobs properly. When they are faced with challenges, it becomes a problem to win the fight and on that process most soldiers lost their lives.
We (Viewers Corner News team) sympathize with the families of those who lost their loved ones recently during the attack. May their souls rest in peace.
