Russia and Egypt recently signed a protocol on security cooperation to resume flights to Egypt which was stopped after a Russian airliner carrying 224 people was bombed by Islamic State, killing all on board. Russia’s transportation minister on Friday, December 15, said that the flights to Egypt will resume in February 2018. Russia authorities suspended flights to Egypt after Islamic state group bombed a Russian passenger plane, killing all 224 people on board. The attack affected Egypt’s tourism industry and Egyptian authorities have spent millions of dollars to upgrade security at its airports, with the hope to get Moscow to change its mind.
