ROTIMI AMAECHI’S CONFIRMATION AS A MINISTER OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA IS VERY APPROPRIATE.

Rotimi Amaechi

Viewers Corner reliably learnt that Rotimi Amaechi has been confirmed as a minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria by the Senate, we also learnt that all the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) senators in the House walked out as a result of some sorts of disagreement in the process of confirming Rotimi Amaechi.

It was also revealed that People’s Democratic Party Senators never wanted to confirm Amaechi’s ministerial position but since they are the minority in the House, they have no choice. Amaechi has scaled through this process which is the right thing. The same situation happened in the past when People’s Democratic Party senators were fronting Musiliu Obanikoro from Lagos state as a Minister but when APC  Senators objected to the nomination of Musiliu Obanikoro because of his involvement in the alleged rigging of Ekiti State gubernatorial election that brought Ayo Fayose as Ekiti State Governor, the PDP Senators used their position then as the majority in the House and confirmed Musiliu Obanikoro as Foreign Minister II.  Now a similar situation has happened in Rotimi Amaechi’s case so the APC  Senators have to confirm one of their own, this is politics. They are in order because Rotimi Amaechi has never ever been charged or invited to any court of law or a tribunal on corruption related offence so he is more than qualified to be a minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Again, based on the activities of Rotimi Amaechi in Rivers State when he was the Governor, he did well especially in educational sector and he should be commended for that. Viewers Corner is wishing Rotimi Amaechi all the best as he awaits his ministerial posting. We (Viewers Corner) are pleading to all the politicians in Nigeria to please stop this politics of bitterness which is in their system, they should be modest and truthful at all times and give credit to an individual that deserves it. Viewers Corner also commends the efforts of all the senators in the House that contributed in anyway to make Amaechi’s ministerial confirmation possible, we appreciate your efforts very nicely.
