ROMAN SUSHCHENKO, 49 YEAR OLD UKRAINIAN JOURNALIST WAS FOUND GUILTY OF ESPIONAGE BY A RUSSIAN COURT AND SENTENCED TO TWELVE (12) YEARS IN PRISON.

Roman Sushchenko, a 49 year old Ukrainian journalist was on Monday, 4 June 2018 found guilty of espionage by a court in Russia and sentenced to 12 years in a maximum security prison. Roman Sushchenko denied the accusation of spying Russia for his country (Ukraine) and his lawyer, Mark Feygin said he would appeal against the verdict. Sushchenko was arrested by Russia’s FSB Security Service in 2016 after he flew into Moscow from Paris (France) where he worked as a correspondent for Ukrainian state news agency (Ukrinform).
