RETIRED MAJOR HAMZA AL-MUSTAPHA ALLEGEDLY ACCUSED SOME YORUBA LEADERS OF COLLECTING BRIBES FROM THOSE THAT WERE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE MURDER OF CHIEF MKO ABIOLA.

The late chief MKO Abiola was a great man and his death was a huge blow to Nigeria and her citizens. When he (Chief MKO Abiola) declared his intention to contest for the post of the president of Nigeria, majority in the country (Nigeria) were very happy and supported his bid to win the mandate which he won but unfortunately Ibrahim Babangida who was then the military head of states of Nigeria and a very close friend of late chief MKO Abiola denied him the opportunity of leading Nigeria. Those who witnessed the election of that year said that it was the most free and fair election in the history of Nigeria because almost everyone in the country (Nigeria) supported him (Chief MKO Abiola). If he had been given the chance to led the country (Nigeria), with his international connections, he would have done very well as the president of Nigeria. The retired major Hamza AL-Mustapha who was the former Chief Security Officer (CSO) to the late military head of states Sani Abacha said recently that Yoruba leaders collected bribes from those that killed chief MKO Abiola to cover his murder. He (major Hamza AL-Mustapha) went as far as to saying that one Ayo Opadokun is one of those who allegedly led the group to collect bribe from those that killed chief MKO Abiola. This is a strong allegation and if it is true that the Yoruba leaders did what major AL-Mustapha (rtd) is  accusing them, then there is a problem.
Our (Viewers Corner News) take on this issue is that the cause of death of chief MKO Abiola is not something that would be overlooked, therefore those that were responsible for his death and those that took bribe from the killers of chief MKO Abiola as alleged should be brought to book because they are the real enemies of the country (Nigeria). Somehow those Yoruba leaders that were allegedly mentioned should be summoned by the Nigerian authorities to explain more on what they know concerning chief MKO Abiola’s death and the bribery issue. As long as the death of any human being is concerned, the investigation can never be closed until justice is achieved. Viewers Corner News team would also use this opportunity to plead with the Nigerian government to re-open investigation on the cases of Bola Ige, Dele Giwa and Tunde Idiagbon and others who died mysteriously without any clue of how and who killed them. Again Viewers Corner News team and other Nigerians both home and abroad are demanding justice for these great Nigerian leaders. Their death can never be thrown away just like that, we shall continue to write about it until an honest answer is provided.
