Retired General Buratai

RETIRED GENERAL BURATAI’S LEADERSHIP IN THE NIGERIAN ARMY WAS BELOW EXPECTATION.

In any government, be it military or democratic, redeployment of officials are very important most especially when positive results are not forth coming as expected. Viewers Corner News team learnt that the Retired General Buratai said that before he took over the management of the Nigerian army, things were at the lowest level but as he is retiring, things were better off than he met the military. This claim of Retired General Buratai is false because immediately the Nigerian army received information that General Buratai was leaving the military, almost all the soldiers in Nigeria started celebrating his exit. Meaning that the just retired General Buratai did not lead well while in office. It is not a hidden thing that the attacks of Boko-haram terrorist group and other bandits against the people of Nigeria were huge during General Buratai’s era. However, he (Retired General Buratai) should not be blamed completely for all these because the Buhari’s administration despite the cry of majority of Nigerians to have the service chiefs retired earlier, President Buhari refused to sack them until things got worst. This does not give a good image of a leader with a listening ear. Normally, in any government like we said earlier, change is very important or redeployment of officials to other areas most especially when things are not working as expected in the country. Retired General Buratai who lots of Nigerians see as a very corrupt man and are also calling for the International Criminal Court to have him tried for various atrocities he allegedly committed while in office can not boast that he led the Nigerian army nicely. The good thing now is that General Buratai and his colleagues have been retired. Nigerians both home and abroad are hoping that those who took over from General Buratai and his colleagues would work better to keep Nigeria and her citizens safe.
