RETIRED COL. HAMID IBRAHIM ALI, THE FORMER MILITARY ADMINISTRATOR OF KADUNA STATE (AUGUST 1996- AUGUST 1998) IS NOW THE COMPTROLLER-GENERAL OF NIGERIA CUSTOMS SERVICE, HIS SERVICES ARE QUESTIONABLE.

For Nigeria as a nation to grow and become great, certain obstacles need to be removed from the system which is sentiment, tribalism, corruption etc. Viewers Corner noted in our findings based on series of research carried out in the Nigeria Customs Service, we observed that Retired Col. Hamid Ibrahim Ali who is the Comptroller-General of Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) is following a wrong direction.

He is running the Nigeria customs service as a personal business where he has to sack and change the existing formula which has been in use for quite sometime before he came to office as the Comptroller-General of Nigeria Customs Service. We also found out that certain ethnic groups are favoured in the Customs Service better than the other ethnic groups which is not suppose to be so. Hamid Ibrahim Ali promoted some and neglected some but we do not know why he did so. Nigeria customs Services is a national outfit and every Nigerian citizen should have equal employment opportunity to work there.

Viewers corner is a bit disappointed that such a man can act in this manner, therefore we are appealing that he stop his policy of favouring one ethnic group and leaving the rest without any promotion. Again, President Buhari of Nigeria appointed him to that post and the Nigeria public overwhelmingly voted for Buhari because they wanted a change and corrupt free country, so the change Nigerian people voted for should create a better living conditions for all the Nigerian citizens and should not be taken for granted. We are asking him (Hamid Ibrahim Ali) to use his good office and do the right thing for the country Nigeria. Sentiment and tribalism should be avoided, Nigeria is one and should remain so, give equal promotion to every Nigerian citizen.
