CHIEF RAYMOND DOKPESI CALLING FOR NATIONAL PRISON REFORM AFTER BEING RELEASED FROM KUJE PRISON (ABUJA) IS A WELCOME NEWS.

Viewers Corner has written several articles in the past concerning the state of Nigerian prisons. We stated that prisons should be seen as a rehabilitation homes with difference. After our comprehensive research on the state of prisons in Nigeria, we suggested that Nigerian prisons need a new face lift. In as much as offenders are paying for the crimes they committed, they should also be given some sort of amenities in line with other good prisons around the world. Nigerian prisoners are treated like animals, no basic amenities, no rehabilitation programs that will help them to live a normal and happy life when they come out from prison etc., it is very nice that the untouchables in Nigeria are beginning to taste the type of life the prisoners are living in Nigeria.
Viewers Corner was informed that the founder of DAAR Communications Plc, Chief Raymond Dokpesi who was released from Kuje prison in Abuja (Nigeria) on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 has called for national prison reforms in Nigeria. According to him, the situation of things in the Nigerian prisons is horrifying and astonishing. Viewers Corner is using this opportunity once again to appeal to the federal government of Nigeria to carry out reforms in the Nigerian prisons.
