Queen Elizabeth II, who ruled the United Kingdom for 70 years, has passed away at Balmoral at the age of 96.

It was reported that Queen Elizabeth II passed away on Thursday afternoon, September 8, 2022, at her Scottish estate. A formal notice announcing the death was put outside, and the Union flag flying over the palace was lowered to half-mast. Queen Elizabeth II (Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor) was born on April 21, 1926, in Mayfair, London. Queen Elizabeth II was crowned at Westminster Abbey on June 2, 1953, at the age of 27, and ruled the United Kingdom for 70 years. Queen Elizabeth II was the longest-reigning monarch in British history and the world’s oldest head of state. Charles, the former Prince of Wales, the eldest son and heir of the Queen, has succeeded her as the next monarch of the United Kingdom and 14 Commonwealth states. Prince William and his wife, Catherine, were made the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Cornwall after the passing of the Queen. May her soul rest in peace.
