The information reaching Viewers Corner News revealed that Sri Lanka’s inspector general of police, Pujith Jayasundara has refused to resign from his post despite the President (Maithripala Sirisena) request for him to step down. President Maithripala Sirisena who is facing criticism over his government’s inability to thwart the Easter Sunday suicide bombings on churches and hotels is blaming the inspector general of police (Pujith Jayasundara) and Hemesiri Fernando (the defense secretary) for not sharing warnings of the attacks given by India’s spy service with him. Mr Hemesiri Fernando (the defense secretary) has stepped down last week but Mr Pujith Jayasundara (the country’s inspector general of police) is still there as the police chief. Sri Lanka experienced one of the deadliest suicide bombings which killed more than 250 people on Sunday, 21 April 2019.
