Governor Ayodele Peter Fayose is the governor of Ekiti State (Nigeria) while Professor Kolapo Olusola is the deputy governor of the state and also the governorship candidate of the just concluded governorship election in Ekiti state. These men are members of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of Nigeria, a political party (PDP) believed by majority of Nigerians both home and abroad to be the most corrupt party in the history of the country (Nigeria).
In Ekiti state (Nigeria), corruption and lack of good governance were why they lost the governorship election. Salaries of workers and pensioners’ allowances in the state have not been paid for months. The youths of Ekiti state (Nigeria) are not getting what rightfully belong to them. All these and more contrituted to why governor Ayodele Peter Fayose and his choice of candidate (professor Kolapo Olusola) lost the governorship election in the state. This would be a lesson to state governors across Nigeria who are not paying workers’ salaries and pensioners’ allowances; that no matter the amount of money or cooked rice shared to voters on the election day, it would not change the minds of voters to favour them.
Now hear this; A good product shall always sell itself, if you as a governor has been paying workers’ salaries and pensioners’ allowances and at the same time be governing your state well, believe it or not majority of the people would vote for you but where all these are lacking, how do you expect to win the election? The answer is NO, because the voters are wiser now and can not be fooled anymore through giving handouts to them on the day of election. The era of such manipulation is long gone.
However, Professor Kolapo Olusola going to court to challenge the result of the election is his right as democracy demands but certainly nothing serious would come out of it, if the matter is honestly decided.
