The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Charles and Meghan announced on Wednesday, 8 January that they are stepping back as senior members of the Royal family. The Royal couple also said that they plan to work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty, the Queen. Prince Harry and Meghan also plan to split their time between North America and the United Kingdom, and even start paying their own bills. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex surprised the British people with the announcement. The palace said that Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s decision is a complicated issue that will take time to work through.
