PRESIDENT VLADIMIR PUTIN ORDERED AMENDMENTS EXTENDING HIS RULE UNTIL 2036 TO BE PUT INTO THE RUSSIAN CONSTITUTION.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered amendments that would extend his rule until 2036 to be put into the Russian Constitution. President Vladimir Putin said this on Friday, 3 July 2020 in Moscow (Russia) in a meeting through teleconference with members of working group to prepare proposals on amending the Russian Constitution. Our (Viewers Corner News) correspondent in Moscow reported that the amendments will come into force on Saturday, 4 July 2020. The amendments would allow President Putin to run for two more six-year terms after his current tenure expires in 2024. Also the changes outlaw same-sex marriages, stating the belief in God as a core value and emphasize the supremacy of Russian law over international norms. Almost 78% of Russian voters approved amendments to the country’s constitution that will allow President Vladimir Putin to stay in power until 2036 during a week-long plebiscite.
