President Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe in the past fought to liberate his country from the colonial masters, he fought bravely as a freedom fighter with other prominent names in his country Zimbabwe which ended in his favour. In his early years as the President of Zimbabwe (Robert Mugabe), he started nicely until the hunger to occupy the nation’s house permanently became part of his system. Even when his advisers were crying for reforms in Zimbabwe, he did not listen to them only what he feels is right must be done. He takes laws in his own hands, no one challenges him, he becomes the iron man of Zimbabwe. Till today the world has recorded lots of human right abuses connected to him which they believe if he steps down anytime from power as the President of Zimbabwe, he must surely give account of those alleged atrocities.
We (Viewers Corner) assumed that part of this alleged human right abuses in his front may be one of his reasons for refusing to step down as the President of Zimbabwe because as it is now, immunity covers him. Again his recent statement that he would remain in power until death do him part is so laughable, honestly for such a man at his age to still be in power is not right because he has out stayed his usefulness there. He should step down and allow the younger generation with new ideas to take over from him, he (Robert Mugabe) should be an elder statesman that he is. Why stay in power till death? This is not only happening in Zimbabwe, it is also happening in some other African countries where a President would be in power for as long as he or she wants to, however this would no longer be called a democratic government but “MUGABECRACY” system of government. Most of these attitudes are found in the continent of Africa, at Robert Mugabe’s age, what sort of advice would he give to the youths of today when he is not doing the right thing? However since Robert Mugabe, the President of Zimbabwe has refused to step down despite his age until death do him part, Viewers Corner wish him and his country Zimbabwe all the best because we believe that in the next presidential election which he promised to contest is just for formalities. He will surely declare himself the winner of the would be election, there is no doubt about that and we (Viewers Corner) call it “MUGABECRACY” system of government and not democratic system of government anymore. This is too bad.
