PRESIDENT NICOLAS MADURO’S GOVERNMENT HAS RELEASED EDGAR ZAMBRANO (OPPOSITION POLITICIAN) FROM JAIL AFTER HIS ARREST ON TREASON CHARGES.

Viewers Corner News correspondent in Caracas reported that Edgar Zambrano (deputy of Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaido) has been released from jail by Venezuela’s government after his arrest on treason charges. Edgar Zambrano was arrested in May 2019 for supporting a failed uprising led by opposition leader Juan Guaido on 30 April 2019. After his release, Edgar Zambrano called for the release of other political prisoners, including colleagues who were arrested by the government of Nicolas Maduro. Although Zambrano was released, his case remains open, he (Edgar Zambrano) is expected to appear before Supreme court every 30 days and he is not allowed to leave Venezuela. The country (Venezuela) has been in political crisis since January 2019 when Juan Guaido assumed an interim presidency, saying the presidential elections held on May 2018 was invalid because it was undermined by fraud. Guaido was supported by many western countries and their allies. According to United Nations, about four million people have fled Venezuela in recent years due to hyperinflation, insecurity, scarcity of medicine and food.
