PRESIDENT JOHN MAHAMA OF GHANA HAS BANNED PUBLIC OFFICIALS IN THE COUNTRY FROM USING FIRST CLASS AIR TRAVEL.

The Ghanaian President, John Mahama has banned the government officials in Ghana from travelling in a first class, this is a move to reduce wasteful spending in the country. The directive which was issued by the President and made public by the country’s minister of communications, Edward Omane Boamah is asking all ministers and other Ghanaian top government officials to stop unnecessary foreign travels on the government’s account. It also stated that any government officials that violates this directive will either be jailed or dismissed from office. The country’s opposition party has been accusing the incumbent government of wasteful spending, inflating contract amount and this tends to be a top campaign issue as Ghana is preparing for her presidential and Parliamentary elections in 2016.
