It was reported that President John Magufuli of Tanzania has declared his country free of Coronavirus. The president thank God and told worshippers in a church in Dodoma that coronavirus has been eliminated. The Tanzanian government stopped publishing data on the number of coronavirus cases in the country and World Health Organization (WHO) recently expressed concern over the government’s strategy on Covid-19. The country’s last official data on coronavirus was released on 29 April 2020. President Magufuli accused Tanzania’s health officials of exaggerating the coronavirus crisis and urged the citizens to attend services in churches and mosques, saying that prayers can eliminate the virus. He also advised against accepting donations to fight coronavirus, that donations of masks could be used to transmit the virus.
