The United States President Joe Biden on Wednesday signed series of executive orders, addressing climate change crisis, ban on oil drilling on federal land and others. President Biden stated while signing the executive orders that his government has waited too long to deal with the climate crisis and cannot wait any longer. President Biden also said that the United States must lead a global response to the climate change crisis. He also signed an order to stop new oil drilling leases on federal land. He stated that his government will use federal purchasing power to buy many zero-emission vehicles, thereby creating new jobs in the American automobile industry. John Kerry, President Biden’s international climate envoy said that the United States would host an international climate change summit on Earth Day (April 22) so that 2021 will be the year to make up for the lost time of the last four years. President Biden’s government target is to conserve not less than 30% of federal lands and oceans by 2030.
