President Evo Morales of Bolivia who had stayed in power for nearly 14 years has announced his resignation following weeks of anti-government protests due to reports of election fraud. The Bolivian head of army (General Williams Kaliman) called on Evo Morales to resign for the sake of the country’s stability. According to our source, tensions in Bolivia started on the night of the presidential election after votes count was stopped for 24 hours. The final result gave ex-President Evo Morales more than 10 percent lead which he needed to win outright in the first round of the election. The Organization of American States which monitored the elections refused to certify the result of the election, saying that it found evidence of data manipulation. At least three people had died during the protests. Mr Evo Morales had served Bolivia since 2006 as the country’s first indigenous president.
