Chris Krebs

PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP FIRED CHRIS KREBS (HEAD OF DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY’S CYBERSECURITY AND INFRASTRUCTURE SECURITY) FOR DEFENDING NOVEMBER 3 ELECTION.

Chris Krebs, the director of Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has been fired by President Donald Trump for stating that the U.S November 3 election was secure and rejecting claims of fraud. President Trump alleged that the election was rigged, he has also refused to concede defeat to President-elect Joe Biden. Although the election officials in both parties (Republican and Democrats) said there was no evidence of serious irregularities, President Trump and his campaign have filed lawsuits in battleground states. President Trump was furious that Chris Krebs (whose work was to protect the election from hackers and combating disinformation about the vote) did not support his claims of election fraud. President Trump twitted that Chris Krebs misinformed people in his statement that the election was secure while there were massive frauds, including dead people voting, Poll Watchers not allowed into polling locations and voting machine errors that flipped votes from Trump to President-elect Joe Biden. Some election security experts have also released statements refuting President Trump’s claims of election fraud. Chris Krebs was not given notice before his sack, rather he learned that in Twitter. Matthew Travis, Chris Krebs’ deputy at the agency has resigned.
