PRESIDENT BUHARI’S RECENT APPOINTMENT IN NIGERIA NATIONAL PETROLEUM CORPORATION, THE SAME OLD PEOPLE DOING THE SAME TERRIBLE OLD THINGS THEY KNOW HOW TO DO BEST. NOTHING SO GOOD MAY COME OUT OF THIS NEWLY FORMED BOARD, NIGERIANS SHOULD WATCH OUT.

The idea of having a new board for the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation is good and the government of president Buhari did well for doing so but the people who make up this board is what is questionable. Viewers Corner news and the advisory team expected president Buhari and his government to have looked elsewhere within the country (Nigeria) and appoint fresh people who would carry out the duties properly, taken into consideration the daily bombing of oil pipelines in the Niger delta region of the country. Again we would like to correct this notion, “Dr. Ibe Kachikwu was not sacked”, he is still the minister of state for petroleum and also the chairman of the newly formed board of the Nigerian National Petroleum corporation therefore he is still within the petroleum environment though he is not the group managing director of the corporation.
Honestly president Buhari should have appointed more people from the oil rich Niger Delta region to the board and if such had been done, it would play a huge role in calming down these Niger delta militants that are destroying the oil pipelines on daily basis. Sincerely this appointment has weakened lots of people in the country (Nigeria) based on our (Viewers Corner News) findings. We know that no matter what anyone does in life, people must surely criticize it whether good or bad but in this situation, president Buhari should have balanced it. Again what we observed in this appointment is that president Buhari’s government has given the Niger delta militants power to continue in their terrible activities of destroying the oil pipelines in the country (Nigeria).
Before this appointment was made, who are president Buhari’s advisers and what did they tell him concerning this issue? Did they advised him (President Buhari) and he did not listen to them? We also believe that the responsibility of every government is to protect her means of survival and in so doing there would be continuity but right now with this new appointment which president Buhari made, we doubt if such continuity would not be jeopardized. We (Viewers Corner News and the advisory team) are saying so because the country (Nigeria) depends solely on petroleum products for now to plan the future of the country (Nigeria) and with the militants bombing the oil facilities continuously, such action would affect the economy of Nigeria in a very terrible manner coupled with the fluctuation in the price of petroleum products worldwide.
Our (Viewers Corner News) advise to president Buhari is this, please always listen to your advisers that is if you have not been doing so. Again devise another means of reaching out to the militants who are destroying the oil pipelines and negotiate with them so that peace can be achieved because if this aspect is not properly handled, it may likely create a huge problem in the long run. Please now is the time to get started and do what is right for the people of Nigeria because tomorrow may be too late.
