Information reaching Viewers Corner from Abuja, the capital city of Nigeria revealed that 13 Nigerian retired military Generals are making moves to return about one trillion Naira stolen
from the Nigerian treasury. Then Viewers Corner ask, assuming President Buhari did not come into power, this money would have gone the usual way? In the past, do you know how many government officials that have looted the Nigerian treasury just like these Generals did? Now because campaign against corruption is going on, that is why these Generals agreed to return this huge sum of money stolen. Viewers Corner would not want to go into this issue for now since they have agreed to return the money back to the country. Again, the sad aspect of this whole situation is that in Nigeria, unemployment rate is so high, normally, with this kind of money, Nigeria as a country can build lots of industries that can give out jobs to the citizens of Nigeria and equally create social services for everyone in the country but a few individuals that were in the position of authority looted the Nigerian treasury. These group of men have no regard for humanity. Somehow, if they have conscience, they would not have taken such huge amount of money then leaving the Nigerian public to suffer, this is indiscipline.
Viewers Corner also learnt that they would prefer returning this money rather than face the Buhari’s probe. Therefore in Viewers Corner’s opinion, President Buhari should collect the money and quietly allow them to go but should enact a law that would ban them from participating in any future politics or any governmental activities in Nigeria for life. If they violate this law, then they would have to face justice.
Like we all know, corruption is a killer disease and any country that does not clean up his system will never move forward, therefore Viewers corner is appealing to all Nigerians to support President Buhari in the fight against corruption to make Nigeria a great country again.
