President Buhari of Nigeria has called for calm after about eighty six (86) people lost their lives and at least 50 houses destroyed on Sunday, 24 June 2018 in clashes between mostly Muslim herders and Christian farmers in Plateau state (Nigeria). President Buhari in his official Twitter account appealed for calm, stating that no efforts will be spared to bring the perpetrators to justice. Plateau state government also imposed a dusk-to-dawn (6 p.m. to 6 a.m.) curfew in the communities of Jos South, Riyom and Barkin Ladi. Clashes between farmers and herders in Middle Belt states in Nigeria have killed more people than Nigeria’s Boko Haram extremist group in the north eastern part of the country (Nigeria).
