President Bola Tinubu should call his advisers to order. They should leave Mr. Peter Obi of the Labour Party alone and focus on how to make Nigeria’s economy work better.

Mr. Bayo Onanuga, who is President Bola Tinubu’s adviser, has started pointing accusing fingers at Mr. Peter Obi, who was the presidential candidate of the Labour Party of Nigeria, as being the brain behind the upcoming protest that the people of Nigeria are trying to stage beginning from 1st August. Our findings showed that Mr. Peter Obi’s hand is not in any planned protest, as Mr. Bayo Onanuga, who is president Bola Tinubu’s adviser, claimed. Mr. Peter Obi has moved on after he lost the presidential election of 2023. So President Bola Tinubu’s adviser calling Peter Obi out is uncalled for. Leave Mr. Peter Obi alone and focus more on making the economy of Nigeria work better. Again, some Nigerians who wrote to the Viewers Corner News office gave these reasons for planning the upcoming protest. They said that the economic hardship in Nigeria has reached an alarming level; the ordinary man on the street can no longer afford to buy anything in the market; the cost of food items has gone too high beyond the reach of the people of Nigeria. Insecurity is worse across Nigeria, thereby making it extremely difficult for farmers to access their farmland, and the government of Nigeria seems not to be doing anything about it. These and many more are their reasons for the planned protest. Again, they said that it has absolutely nothing to do with Mr. Peter Obi of the Labour Party of Nigeria. Therefore, President Bola Tinubu should call his advisers to order. The people of Nigeria have every right to carry out protests when the government in power is not performing as expected, which is allowed in every democratic system of government. So Nigeria should not be an exception.
