Viewers Corner’s correspondent in Washington was informed that President Barack Obama will make a historical visit to Cuba on March 2016. President Obama has also confirmed the visit to Cuba in a twitter post.
In July 2015, United States and Cuba restored diplomatic ties which placed travel and trade restrictions between the two countries for 54 years. President Obama will be the first US sitting President to visit Havana since Calvin Coolidge in 1928, though the Republicans have criticised the visit saying that it should not take place. Viewers Corner applaud President Barack Obama for his efforts and commitments in ensuring US-Cuban relations.
