President Ashraf Ghani of Afghanistan has vowed to totally crush the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) after Saturday wedding attack in Kabul which killed about 60 people and wounded many others. President Ghani stated this on Monday, 19 August 2019 and called on Pakistanis to help government identify the ISIL safe havens in order to eliminate them. Out of respect for those who lost their lives in the attack, the president also postponed celebrations for Monday’s 100th anniversary of Afghanistan’s independence from Britain. Viewers Corner News correspondent in Kabul reported that on Saturday, 17 August, a suicide bomber detonated bomb in the middle of a dancing crowd inside the wedding hall. More than 60 people were killed and about 182 others were wounded in the attack in western Kabul. The Islamic state terrorist group claimed responsibility for the attack.
