Information reaching us from Abuja through our (Viewers corner) correspondent revealed that the five thousand Naira (N5,000) unemployment benefits which the APC/Buhari led government promised to pay to the unemployed youths in Nigeria during their campaign will no longer be possible as planned. This is one aspect of the promise which the Buhari administration made to the unemployed in Nigeria which they can not keep, we (Viewers Corner) knew right from when the promise was made that such program would be difficult to implement in Nigeria for now because Nigeria as a consumer nation and a third world country can not afford such program. May be in some years to come when things are better but certainly not at the moment because our (Viewers Corner) economic team with highly qualified individuals analyzed it and discovered that such promise will not be possible at this point in time taking into consideration the availability of resources at hand. Again to finance such program, government needs proper and careful planning and if the Nigerian government had embarked on such venture, it would only last for few months and most probably collapsed at the end. What is important in anything we are going to do is continuity most especially if the program would bring benefits to the people we are leading because financing such venture would be a total waste to the country (Nigeria) with a population of over one hundred and seventy million people and out of this number, lots of unemployed people are roaming various cities of the country (Nigeria). However in our future article, we are going to discuss in details why APC/President Buhari led government would not have been able to implement such system assuming they went on with it. Somehow Buhari’s decision on this issue which he has taken is what every good government should do, use the money which you want to pay to these unemployed people in Nigeria and create employment for them because if you calculate the amount and what it would cost to implement such system, it is going to consume a whole lot of money which may ruin any country that is a consumer nation like Nigeria with her large population. This again brings us to the issue of why most people in the country (u) do not believe or have trust on the politicians anymore, the APC/Buhari led government has raised the hopes of the unemployed in the country (Nigeria) and now they are backsliding. We are appealing to President Buhari’s government and every other government that would come in the the near future to plan and assess his economic programs properly before making it known to the Nigeria people because if you say what your political party can not implement after being elected into office, such attitude could be regarded as a deceit and may be capable of denting the image of a good political party. Therefore before campaigning, every political party should have his economic programs in place and should have carefully thought through them so that if eventually the party wins the election and a president emerges then there would be no much problems trying to implement policies because the party/president that is coming into office has already good programs at hand which would benefit the citizens of the country.
Our (Viewers corner) take on all these issues is for every political party in the country (Nigeria) to have a good economic plan which should be reviewed as always whether the party is in power or not and if your party is not in power but have some good ideas that can move the country forward then pass it on to the party that is in power and in so doing, if the programs are being used and is working nicely somehow in the next election, there is nothing that would stop whichever party that has been contributing nicely to assist the ruling party from winning the next election. This is food for thought, therefore let all political parties in the country (Nigeria) join hands and assist president Buhari’s government so that at the end success can be achieved.
