PHILIPPINES ARMY TO RECRUIT TEN NEW BATTALIONS TO FINALLY CRUSH THE REMAINING MILITANTS IN THE COUNTRY.

Viewers Corner News was informed that President Rodrigo Duterte of Philippines has ordered the country’s army to recruit and organize ten new infantry battalions in order to finally crush the remaining Islamic State militants in the country. One battalion comprises of about 500 soldiers.  Philippines President gave the order on Thursday, October 26, 2017 during change of command ceremonies of the Armed Forces of Philippines at Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City, metro Manila (Philippines). This order came some days after pro-Islamic State militants (Maute group) which seized control in Marawi City were defeated by the military. Over 1,100 people, including 165 soldiers have been killed since May 23, 2017 the militants (Maute group) seized control in Marawi City. Philippines has been fighting guerrilla warfare for nearly 50 years against Maoist rebels and Muslim separatists and this has claimed the lives of over 160,000 people and about two million were displaced.
