This is the extent to which African leaders can go to get what they want in politics, this is another example of dictatorship system of government. Why would he do that, is he the only person in Rwanda? We believe that he has manipulated the system as usual like other African leaders to get what he wants. this is too bad and not so good for democracy. This means that Mr. Paul Kagame will likely be in power till 2034, that is in the next 19 years as the President of Rwanda. The question now is this, is this man the only best man for this job in Rwanda? Even if he has a good track records assuming, he should give other people in the country the opportunity to try as well not staying in power as if he owns the country alone. This is not democracy, may be the world should find another name to give to such practice, is so shameful that things of this nature is coming out from the continent of Africa.
Another terrible aspect is that the people that would have opposed such system are themselves in that situation too just like Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe who has been in power for over 30 years and refused to step down. He has outstayed his usefulness in office as a President and should go. In all the meetings African Union leaders have been attending immediately an issue is being discussed, before you know it Robert Mugabe has slept off so tell me what kind of reasonable contribution would such a man make in moving his country and the continent of African forward when he sleeps at every meeting he attends. The reason is that he is weak as a result of his age, he is 91 years old or more and should be relaxing in his home by now as an Elder states man but because of the sweetness of being called a President and the powers associated with it, may be that is why he has refused to step down as the President of Zimbabwe, which is very wrong.
