Patrice Talon, a 57-year-old Business man and opposition candidate has won the just concluded Benin presidential election. He defeated the incumbent Prime Minister, Lionel Zinso to succeed the country’s outgoing President, Thomas Boni Yayi. Prime minister Lionel Zinso conceded defeat and congratulated Patrice Talon.
The outgoing Benin president, Thomas Boni Yayi has distinguished himself as a true democrat and equally written his name in the golden book by stepping down after having served a maximum two five-year terms unlike many African leaders who have tried to change their country’s constitution in order to stay in power. Congratulations to Patrice Talon and Viewers Corner wish him success.
