Viewers Corner News correspondent learned that over 150 Islamic State group fighters have surrendered to Afghan security forces in Darzab, Jawzjan province (north of Kabul, Afghanistan). This happened after the Taliban announced that they have driven and killed more than 100 Isil militants from the north of Afghanistan following weeks of heavy clashes and forcing thousands of civilians to fled the region. Also 152 Islamic State group fighters from the areas of Darzab and Qush Tepa including Mawlawi Habiburrahman (the commander of Islamic State forces in the north) and Mufti Nematullah (another commander) have surrendered.
General John Nicholson, the United States top Commander in Afghanistan has welcomed the idea of Taliban fighting Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (Isil). The U.S forces have also launched air strikes against Islamic State fighters in Jawzjan but the Taliban have rejected any cooperation from the United States, accusing US of trying to obstruct them.
