Oscar Pistorius, the 29-year-old Olympic sprinter who was initially convicted of manslaughter has been found guilty of murder of Reeva Steenkamp and sentenced to six years in prison. At the early hour of February 14, 2013, Oscar Pistorius fired four bullets through his bathroom door in his Pretoria home and shot his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp to death. He claimed that he mistook Steenkamp for an intruder and feared for his life when he shot through the door. Judge Masipa in September 2014, found Pistorius guilty of culpable homicide (manslaughter) and sentenced him to five years in prison but the Supreme court of Appeals overturned the judgment last year December and convicted him of murder. The Olympian and Paralympic gold medalist, Oscar Pistorius has been sent to prison for six years on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 for the 2013 murder of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp by Judge Thokozile Masipa.
