The chief of the Philippine National Police, Oscar Albayalde has resigned on Monday, 14 October 2019 after being accused of involvement in recycling confiscated drugs. Oscar Albayalde was accused of protecting officers who sold confiscated narcotics back in the black market. He denied the accusations and initially ruled out resigning but on Monday, he stated that he was stepping down to make way for a new police chief. Despite international outrage, President Rodrigo Duterte has made a bloody war against drugs. His government has been accused of killing thousands of suspected drug dealers and users in Philippine.
