ONE OF THE PROBLEMS FACING COUNTRIES IN AFRICA ESPECIALLY NIGERIA IS THAT THOSE IN POWER HAVE NO IDEAS OF WHAT LEADERSHIP IS ABOUT.

The great man of Congo (late Patrice Emery Lumumba) said that “those in leadership positions in the continent of Africa have no ideas while those with real ideas on how to put things right are not in power and when voters have the opportunity to put things right by electing those with ideas to run the affairs of their various countries, they vote for those without ideas”, which is the truth. This attitude of electing bad leaders to office has affected growth and development in Africa so badly. Viewers Corner News team believes that one of the ways to change this ugly attitude would be through educational campaign, letting voters know that those corrupt leaders without ideas who always offer them money to buy their conscience are indirectly destroying their future and those of their children. An individual who has been in power for so many years without achieving much is not fit to be re-elected to office. When such individual comes to your doorstep to seek for your vote, turn him or her down because the person is bad news to governance. Again, one of the reasons democracy has been chosen to be the best system is that after a specific period of time, voters in every country of the world who practise democracy would have the opportunity to elect another leader to office. Meaning that they should not have been any problem getting it right because if you elect a leader and he did not perform as expected while in office, if such individual comes and ask for another chance to lead, with your vote you can reject him/her outright but corrupt politicians in the continent of Africa especially Nigeria would always find their ways through manipulation to get to the top, hence Nigeria may not move to the next level. Voters in Nigeria should change their attitude, do not sell your conscience or out of sentiment cast your vote for someone who has been in power for so many years without achieving positive results. If you do, then poverty would not leave the country. More on this topic would come in our next article.
