Information reaching Viewers Corner News revealed that the former minister of Niger Delta Godsday Orubebe was found guilty for collecting bribe of about 70 million Naira and also on assets declaration by a court of competent jurisdiction in Nigeria. We also gathered that most of his assets would be confiscated by the federal government of Nigeria. This is nice, at least one aspect on corruption involving one of those men who believed that no one would ever touch them in Nigeria has been decided upon and a guilty verdict reached. We (Viewers Corner News team) had wished a ban from participating in politics for some years so as to teach others that when you are in power and commits an offence, you would be brought to book. It shows that no one is above the law, however the guilty verdict is not a harsh one but for the fact that a former minister of Niger delta has been convicted sounds so good and quite appropriate. Those properties he acquired illegally may never get to him again, he (Godsday Orubebe) also said that he would appeal against the decision of the court because he was convicted as a result of his role in the past election of 2015. The truth is that no matter your appeal, believe me nothing is going to come out of it but you can try because is your God given right as a human being to appeal on any judgement most especially if you are not satisfied with the court’s decision.
