Information reaching Viewers Corner News team from our correspondent in Abuja (Nigeria) revealed that the newly appointed boss of the Nigerian National Intelligence Agency, Mr Ahmed Rufai Abubakar would not have been the right man for this job. It was alleged also that the house of representatives in Nigeria is against such appointment. Our (Viewers Corner News team) question is this; Under Mr. Ahmed Rufai Abubakar’s leadership of the intelligence Agency, would Nigeria security be compromised? Based on what Nigerians both home and abroad knew concerning the newly appointed boss of the Nigerian Intelligence Agency (Mr Ahmed Rufai Abubakar) showed that such sensitive position should not have been given to him. First it was alleged that Mr Ahmed Rufai Abubakar holds dual citizenship and was also born in Chad where he had his primary and secondary education all in Chad.This alone if proven is more than enough to disqualify him from holding such sensitive position in Nigeria. Again no country anywhere in the world can do that. Another point is this, in various ministries where he worked in Nigeria, it was revealed that he was not the most senior officer there. Viewers Corner News team also gathered that there are lots of individuals who were his seniors with fine records and are more qualified in ranks to handle such position and not Mr Ahmed Rufai Abubakar. Sincerely this system of appointment showed lack of consultation and proper investigation on those being appointed to various offices in the country (Nigeria) by the federal government of Nigeria which is not so good. Such practice also happened sometime ago when president Buhari’s led government appointed dead people as board members which should not have been so if the system is properly coordinated. However, no government in the world today is perfect, therefore adjustment can always be made when the problem is identified but what would be wrong is when a mistake is made on any issue, and those who made the mistake refuse to change the wrongs they created. That is where the country (Nigeria) and the system would start having difficulties leading the people. Our (Viewers Corner News team) advice to president Buhari is this; kindly listen to Nigerians who voted for you to lead them and reconsider their plea when any issue is raised because they are the ones that will still vote for you to lead them again assuming you are seeking another tenure. On the other hand, the awareness you (President Buhari and his team) created on the fight against corruption in Nigeria is great and remarkable even though no conviction have been made so far, still president Buhari and his government should be commended. Again Viewers Corner News and the advisory team is pleading that you do more on issues of the economy to end the sufferings of the people of Nigeria.
