There is no doubt about it, President Buhari is doing a great job to eradicate corruption in Nigeria but one thing that is so disturbing right now is the direction which the economy is heading. Everything seems not to be moving fine, look at one dollar is about three hundred and nine Naira. It shows that something is going wrong and urgent attention is required, cost of living for the ordinary person in Nigeria is getting out of hand. This situation brings us to asking about the ministers, what are they doing or are they not in-charge of their various responsibilities? President Buhari should please give them free hand to run the affairs of their ministries (Nigeria) that is if he is not, because one of the reasons for forming cabinet in any government is to share the responsibilities to every minister so that they can assist in nation building. That is how it is in a democratic system of government, it should not be done by only the president.
Again, in the past we (Viewers Corner) suggested that President Buhari should get a sound economic team that would assist his government in economic planning, implementation and control. We do not know if he has done that and we also assumed that the ministers are just there for the names most especially the minister of finance and economic planning. Honestly, that is not how it should be, we are concerned about the welfare of the Nigerian people because the hardship they are passing through at the moment is too much, the unemployment rate is so high in the country (Nigeria) and no solution seems to be found so that the Nigerian people can go to work and earn a living. Therefore, we would use this opportunity to plead with President Buhari and his administration to carry out real economic reforms that would attract foreign investors to the country and a more soft plan should be introduced for local investors as a means to encourage them to invest in the economy. Another important point we would like Nigerian government to look into properly is the issue of power supply in Nigeria because no investor whether foreign or local would want to set up a huge business in a country where the running cost would be too high and this has to do with power supply. Any country that does not have steady power supply would always lack behind, also security, medical/health care facilities etc. are all major factors to be considered. However, we (Viewers Corner) would continue to advise President Buhari and his administration when it is necessary because we believe that with time, he would put things right but only if honest and good advice given by experts are followed properly by President Buhari and his government.
