NINE TURKISH CITIZENS ACCUSED OF HAVING LINKS TO OUTLAWED MILITANT ORGANIZATION RESPONSIBLE FOR SUICIDE BOMBINGS IN TURKEY HAVE BEEN CHARGED TO COURT BY GREEK AUTHORITIES.

On Wednesday, November 29, 2017, Nine Turkish citizens (a woman and eight men) who were suspected of having links to the leftist DHKP/C, (a far-left group responsible for series of attacks and suicide bombings in Turkey since 1990) have been charged to court in Greece with terrorism-related offences. These nine suspects were arrested in three locations during a raid in central Athens on Tuesday, November 28, few days to the expected visit of president Tayyip Erdogan to Greece. Turkish president’s visit to Greece will be the first of such visit in 65 years. These suspects are allegedly members of a criminal organization and were accused of supplying and possession of explosive materials, illegal possession of firearms, smoke bombs and fire crack.
