President Buhari as a person will not embezzle money belonging to Nigeria because of his strict principles which makes him a great man but those he surrounded himself with are individuals with question marks. Again, democratic system of government perhaps is preventing him (President Buhari) to perform his duty like he did in the 80’s which to an extent is understandable. Looking at President Buhari’s ministers, it is a clear that his administration is not the one that would take Nigeria to greatness. In President Buhari’s cabinet where alleged corrupt individuals are heading various ministries in the country (Nigeria) shows that something is wrong somewhere. Look at Timipre Sylva who was the ex-governor of Bayelsa state accused of mismanaging about 19 billion Naira state money is a minister in President Buhari’s cabinet. Rauf Aregbesola, ex-Osun state governor is also in President Buhari’s cabinet. A man who could not pay workers salaries and pensioners allowances despite all the bailout funds he received from the federal government of Nigeria when he was the governor of Osun state, still he left huge debts behind. What would such a man bring to the table that can improve the lives of the people of the country? Absolutely nothing. Look at Ogbonnaya Onu who is unable to use Science and technology to the betterment of the country (Nigeria) is also there. Look at ex-governor of Akwa Ibom who allegedly donated 5 billion Naira to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign in the past is also in President Buhari’s cabinet. If it were in the 80’s, President Buhari and late Tunde Idiagbon would investigate all of them and would never allow such individuals to be in their government. When President Buhari and late Idiagbon sacked ex-president Shehu Shagari from office because of corruption, abuse of power and reckless spending of Nigeria’s hard earned money, ex-governor Lateef Jakande of Lagos state as at that time was arrested and thrown into jail for donating 14 million Naira to his political party (Unity Party of Nigeria) so that he could explain to the Nigerian public how he got such huge amount of money he donated to his political party (UPN). It was also alleged that before ex-governor Lateef Jakande became the governor of Lagos state, he was a journalist and could not have made such huge amount of money he donated to his political party (UPN), so the military authority headed by President Buhari needed an explanation for that. That was when President Buhari and late Idiagbon made their marks as great men. Nigerians can never forget that they were good, great and had vision to make Nigeria one of the world best but ex-military ruler, Ibrahim Babangida with his tricks and manipulations did not allow them to fix the country (Nigeria). If they had stayed a little longer, by now Nigeria as a country would have been left with individuals of outstanding integrity. Again, if it were before when President Buhari had zero tolerance on issues of corruption and indiscipline, most of the ministerial nominees will never make that list. However, we (Viewers Corner News team) shall keep our eyes on them to see if President Buhari’s cabinet would prove us wrong by working very hard to take the economy of the country (Nigeria) to the next level.
