In Africa, sending an offender to prison is like sending the person to a death camp. Information Viewers Corner News correspondent in Accra gathered revealed that lots of Nigerians are serving different jail terms for various offences which would have attracted less years in jail and with very poor conditions in prisons across Ghana. Those our correspondent in Accra spoke with who said they would not want their identity mentioned, revealed that most judges in Ghanaian courts are always harsh when issues get to them and that the offender is a Nigerian. They would make sure that the said individual who is a Nigerian citizen is put away for life, even some Nigerians according to the information believed to still be in prisons in Ghana are dead and buried without their family knowing about it. We (Viewers Corner News team) are pleading and calling on the federal government of Nigeria through their embassy in Ghana to kindly look into this issue. These are your citizens serving various jail terms in a foreign country. Even if the offence that took them to prison were committed by them, find out if they were truly represented during trials. This is part of the reasons every nation of the world have their representatives in various countries to protect their citizens. Again, we (Viewers Corner News team) are appealing to the federal government of Nigeria to act decisively to know why majority of Nigerians are facing harsh treatments in most African countries and find solution on how to settle these issues by letting those countries victimising Nigerians know that the government of Nigeria shall protect and stand by all Nigerians no matter the situation.
