Governor Yahaya Bello

Nigerians ask: Has ex-governor Yahaya Bello’s case of allegedly stealing over 80 billion naira of Kogi state money been swept under the carpet?

The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission of Nigeria, Mr. Olanipekun Olakoyede, promised Nigerians that he was going to investigate ex-governor Yahaya Bello’s alleged 80 billion naira fraud. But till today, Nigerians have not heard anything concerning the case. So they are calling on the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission of Nigeria to let the people of Kogi State and Nigerians in general know how far he has gone on this case because over 80 billion naira fraud is too much to be swept under the carpet. The people of Kogi State and Nigerians as a whole need justice. Such a huge amount of money that would have been used for infrastructural development cannot vanish just like that. In Kogi State, ex-governor Yahaya Bello was unable to pay workers’ salaries and pensioners’ allowances properly during his eight years as governor. But he has such huge sums of money allegedly stolen from the state treasury. This is unacceptable. So Nigerians, both at home and abroad, need answer to this issue.
