Viewers Corner News recent findings revealed that some Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs) that are defending some of these corrupt Nigerian politicians are allegedly charging between 800-900 million Naira as fee to defend them in the court of law. This is huge amount of money and most of them would do anything to get their clients freed because of the financial gains that is involved but then covering the truth in any system of government because of such huge amount of money paid to a lawyer to get his client freed would only tell us one thing which is backwardness and allowing the corrupt politicians to keep on stealing and doing what they know how to do best (embezzlement and manipulations). Honestly no nation of the world would develop or move forward if corruption is not tamed, therefore we (Viewers Corner News and the advisory team) are appealing to all the lawyers defending these corrupt leaders to always put the majority of the Nigerian people’s welfare into consideration when defending these corrupt Nigerian politicians because the problems Nigerians are facing today were created in the past by them (corrupt politicians).
Nigerian lawyers should assist the government of Nigeria to quicken their trials so that justice would be delivered. Again when a senior advocate of Nigeria collects such huge amount of money (800-900 million Naira) as a fee to defend a client who is not a businessman, don’t you think that the politician may have stolen such huge amount of money from the government’s treasury? Which means some of the lawyers are also guilty of such corrupt practices because they knew where the money came from. Normally what we (Viewers Corner News and the advisory team) expect from lawyers in Nigeria to have done is to ask for a plea bargain for your corrupt clients so that they can return what they stole from the government instead of wasting the precious time of the court arguing on the case. However we (Viewers Corner News and the advisory team) are appealing to Nigerian lawyers to kindly do what is right for the citizens of the country (Nigeria) because if you collect such huge amount of money to defend your clients and cover the truth, honestly the end result you all may get from God Almighty would be severe to bear. This is food for thought.
