NIGERIA DEFEATED HONDURAS 3-2 TO WIN OLYMPIC MEDAL AT MINEIRAO STADIUM IN BELO HORIZONTE (BRAZIL) ON SATURDAY, AUGUST 20, 2016.

At last Nigeria can raise her face with a little pride after the Nigeria Dream Team won Nigeria a bronze medal (her only medal) by defeating Honduras 3-2 at the Rio de Janeiro Olympics. The Dream Team whose dream for winning Olympic gold medal was dashed after Germany defeated them with 2-0 in the semi-finals were relieved of the humiliation and shame after beating Honduras 3-2 at the Mineirao stadium in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, on August 20, 2016 to win the bronze medal. Striker Umar Sadiq scored first goal for Nigeria in the 34th minute, then in the four minutes into the second half, Aminu Umar scored the second goal. Again Sadiq Umar scored the third goal for Nigeria but this did not deter the hard fighting Honduras as Antony Lazano and Marcelo Pereira of Honduras scored in the 71st and 86th minutes respectively but time was against the Honduras to equalize the goals. Congratulations to Nigeria.
